FRIDAY, May 31
Option 1: Excursion to Saint-Émilion
On Friday, May 31, we’ve organized an excursion for those who would like to explore the area. We’ll start with a wine tasting and snacks at a local vineyard, followed by 2ish hours in Saint-Émilion where guests can roam and explore as they please!
9:00 AM: Bus leaves for Excursion
10:00 AM: Wine tasting and appetizers at a local Château
2:00 PM: Guests can explore Saint-Émilion: a charming medieval village and UNESCO World Heritage Site located just 40 minutes from the Château. Perched on a hill surrounded by vineyards, the ancient town is a place to explore cobblestoned streets, sip on the eponymous wine of the region, admire beautiful architecture, and take in some amazing historical landmarks like the Monolithic Church of Saint-Émilion and the Tour du Roy.
5:00 PM: We’ll arrive back at the Château. Guests can rest and start getting ready for dinner. Charcuterie boards will be out to snack on in the meantime!
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Option 2: Enjoy the Château
Those who wish to stay at the Château rather than go on the excursion are more than welcome to! You’ll have free reign of the grounds; use your morning and afternoon to lay out by the pool, play some tennis, read in the grand drawing room—whatever you want!
All day
Welcome BBQ
On Friday night, we’ll host a welcome barbecue dinner on the terrace behind the Château, complete with music and drinks. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move this event inside to the ballroom!
7:00 PM
SATURDAY, JUNE 1
Wedding ceremony
The wedding will take place on Saturday, June 1. The ceremony will not begin until 2 or 3 PM, so until then, guests are welcome to make use of the property and spend the morning at their leisure! Here is a rough agenda for the afternoon/evening. It’s customary for French weddings to run longer than we might be used to in the United States—so keep that in mind as you prepare for the evening!
Morning/early afternoon: Guests can do as they please! Swim, walk around the property, read in the library—whatever you’d like. A grab-and-go lunch will be provided around midday.
2:30 PM: Welcome drink (front courtyard)
3:00 PM: Wedding ceremony (front courtyard)
3:30 PM: Cocktail hour (back terrace)
